KATABASIS ZINE

Created in October 2024, this zine accompanied Jenny's exhibition 'Nine' at Arkade Gallery, Aberdeen.

Spanning 36 pages, KATABASIS features an array of imagery, drawing, texts and photographs, many of which were not contained in the exhibition, and formed a key part of the project's development.

Sometimes we are suddenly struck with a sense of "how did I get here?". To try to rationalise this we can attempt to "retrace our steps", piecing together a map of decisions and events (internal and external) which led us to our current state or situation, from memories, experiences and self-reflection/interrogation.

The works contained within this zine are an attempt to map my own journey, inspired by the mythological KATABASIS- a journey into the underworld.
